This wedding was a little different for me. Erin is one half of the super cool chicks over at Ilka and we share a studio space together with Melissa Soraya and the girls from Mitchell & Dent/Studio Bomba and Virgil Coffee. We love working together and life is so good over at #324Oxford. So when Erin announced she was going to be a bride it was amazing for all of us. She made her own wedding dress btw. I mentioned to Ez a few weeks before the wedding that one of my dreams would be photographing a bride and groom getting ready together, she loved the idea and it was then decided that on the morning of the wedding her and Stu would have breakfast together before heading off and getting ready at different locations, I was invited. Only the other day as I’ve been editing the wedding with her looking over my shoulder (I didn’t mind) she said to me that it was one of the best parts of the day for her. I loved it too, mainly cause Stu made me some eggs on toast as well.
Can’t take the credit for a lot of these images, I shot this wedding with buddy Glenn Weaver, who is one half of Through The Woods We Ran, a studio he shares with his kick ass photographer wife Lauren (possibly the best wedding photographer out there currently, I suppose excluding myself). We (mainly I) decided that we should shoot on rangefinder cameras only and use a lot of film. And so it was done. We were excited and armed to the max with film for the day and even though at the end of it our eyes were super sore from all that manual focussing I loved it all. Seeing so many friends at this wedding made it so special, even my Desy was there (there’s a pic of the two of us later on).
